I enjoy movies.
What I don't enjoy is people talking over the opening credits.
There is a reason for that.
Due to my strict like or dislike policies on the crap they put out these days, the title sequences are often the high point of the film.
So despite what I think about the film, here are some title sequences that I really like.
My compliments to YouTube for the video hosting.
Panic Room
If I remember right, I spent most of that movie browsing the web.
Nothing really fancy here, but the expert shadowing and motion makes you think twice about it's reality.
The Royal Tenenbaums
This is fun because it's a cross between pictures and live action.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
This is a bit of an odd duck. But not entirely, the way it is set up the title is worked into the film at the beginning, but the rest of the credits are at the end.
Hostage
Another one of those examples of a not stellar movie, but a kick butt opening sequence.
The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly
Just imagine in 1966 and you've come across an awesome new technology that lets you do a primitive masking technique. This is exactly what you would do. Not to mention the music is instantly recognizable.
Sin City
A simple homage to Frank Miller's original work.
Catch Me If You Can
This is on most people's list, but that's no reason to omit it here.
Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang
If it hasn't been noticed, I like the 2D approach.
American Splendor
Another graphic novel turned into a film. But with a little less evil-anti-hero vibe. Just the anti-hero.
Psycho (1998)
This reminds me of Hitchcock-ian titles of old designed by Saul Bass. Oh wait, it's just an update of the 1960 original version, designed by Saul Bass. Now in Technicolor.
Thank You For Smoking
It's funny that William H. Macy is the duck.
Lord of War
Have you ever wondered how a bullet is made? Sweet. Just sweet.
Snatch
These titles are just simple enough to get lost in the movie, but not completely. And besides, I like watching Rabbis rob people.
That's all for now. I'll get another list together in the future.

There was a film I watched once that I remember having interesting opening credits, but I can't remember now what it was. The movie, I'm pretty sure, sucked.
